Rule 31
Visa Fee Exemption
The visa fee may be waived or waived when visa is issued to the following persons for entry or presence in Nepal and extension of the visa in the following cases –
(a) Foreigners who obtain diplomatic or official visas.
(b) Foreigners who come to participate in meetings, conferences, trainings or meetings organized by the Government of Nepal or entities owned by the Government of Nepal or the United Nations or regional organizations or any other international organizations or agencies under them.
(c) Distinguished persons from countries that have diplomatic relations with Nepal.
(d) Citizens of any country on the basis of reciprocity.
(e) Children of Nepali parents or one of the parents being Nepali and having received foreign passports up to 16 years of age.
(f) A person of Nepali origin after obtaining a passport for the first time from a foreign mission in Nepal until such person departs abroad. (G) Those who are coming to participate in the Nepal government scholarship or approved program with budget allocation from the Nepal government or those who are mentioned in the agreement with the Nepal government to be exempted from visa fees.
(h) For the period until the departure of the next flight to the person who is unable to depart from Nepal due to flight cancellation.
(i) If a foreigner has to stay longer than the period specified in the visa due to circumstances beyond his control or when regularized according to sub-rule (1) of rule 29.
